Kyle Lowry, who missed the last 10 games of the regular season with a foot injury, looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. The 6-foot-1 point guard scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three, to go along with eight assists and five rebounds in 32 minutes.
The performance was a much-needed one for the Raptors, who are still trying to find their identity without Kawhi Leonard. Lowry is the unquestioned leader of this team, and they will go as he goes.
The reason that Kyle Lowry returns to All-Star form is still a big mystery. Lowry, in particular, looked completely out of sorts, shooting 1-for-7 and committing four turnovers.
It was a surprising performance from Lowry, who has been one of the best point guards in the league this season. He’s averaging 19.6 points and 7.4 assists per game while shooting 43.1 percent from three-point range.
So what happened It’s hard to say. Lowry was coming off a strong performance in the Raptors’ win over the Warriors, and he’s generally been very consistent this season.
It’s possible that he was just having an off night, or that the All-Star break caught up with him. Either way, it’s not likely to be a trend, and Lowry should be back to his usual self in the Raptors’ next game.
