The Packers’ lost and Aaron Rodgers’ latest perfromance
The team has lost Aaron Rodgers to a collarbone injury and the offense has been anemic without him. The defense hasn’t been much better, giving up 30 or more points in four of their last five games.
To make matters worse, the Packers have now lost three straight games and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008. The Packers are a mess and it’s hard to see them turning things around anytime soon.
What’s even more frustrating is that the Packers’ struggles can be largely attributed to their own mistakes. Injuries have played a role, but the Packers have also shot themselves in the foot with costly penalties, turnovers and mental errors.
“I’m just not playing well enough,” Rodgers said. “I’ve got to find a way to play better.” Rodgers was again intercepted twice against the Vikings, giving him 12 for the season. He also lost a fumble in the second half.
The Packers have now lost five straight games, and their once-promising season is in danger of falling apart. “I’m just not making enough plays,” Rodgers said. “I’ve got to find a way to make more plays.”
The Packers have been beset by injuries on offense, and they were missing several key players Sunday. But Rodgers said that’s no excuse for his own struggles.
“I need to play better,” he said. “It’s as simple as that.” Rodgers said he still believes the Packers can turn their season around, but he knows they need to start winning soon. “We’ve got to find a way to get a win,” he said. “That’s the bottom line.”
