The NHL’s opening week was full of surprises, with some teams looking sharp and others falling flat. The Toronto Maple Leafs looked great in their first two games, while the Winnipeg Jets struggled out of the gate.
Some individual players also had standout performances, including Auston Matthews of the Maple Leafs, who scored four goals in his first two NHL games. Matthews wasn’t the only one lighting up the scoreboard, as NHL veterans like Patrick Kane and Sidney Crosby also got off to fast starts.
On the other hand, some NHL stars like Connor McDavid and Alex Ovechkin were held off the scoresheet in the opening week. Both players will no doubt be looking to get on track in the coming weeks.
Overall, it was a great first week of NHL action and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. Stay tuned for more highlights and news from around the league!
