LeBron James speaks denied the rumord connected with Bronny James
LeBron James, Bronny’s father, recently shot down a rumor that his son had already committed to playing college basketball at Duke.
“It’s funny how LeBron can sit here and say his son is undecided on where he wants to go to college when everyone knows he wants him to play for Duke,” one Twitter user wrote. LeBron quickly responded, “Ummm wrong! Bronny ain’t commit to Duke OR ANY SCHOOL!”
It’s unclear where the rumor started, but LeBron is certainly correct that Bronny hasn’t made any sort of decision about his future just yet. The five-star recruit is still only a sophomore in high school, so he’s got plenty of time to make a decision.
For now, LeBron is just enjoying watching his son play the game he loves. Bronny has already shown flashes of brilliance on the court, and it’s clear that he has a very bright future ahead of him.
“I will never put any pressure on my kids to do anything they don’t want to do in life,” LeBron said. “I want them to be their own person and make their own decisions.” ”LeBron has not been shy in the past about wanting his son to play for Michigan State, where he has a good relationship with coach Tom Izzo. LeBron even went as far as to say that he would like to see all three of his sons play together in college”.
“I definitely want them to experience college because that didn’t happen for me,” LeBron said in 2018. “I would love for them to experience just the college life and getting away from home and having those type of bonds that you create with your teammates. I think it’s very important.”
For now, Bronny is focused on his high school career and winning a state championship. He has already accomplished a lot in his young career, including appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated. LeBron is obviously very proud of his son and has been supportive of him throughout his career.
“He’s doing unbelievable, man,” LeBron said of Bronny earlier this year. “He’s handling the success and everything that comes with it very well, like we all should. He understands what this process is about, he’s enjoying every moment of it, and he’s just continuing to work on his craft.”
LeBron has also been asked about the rumors that Bronny could potentially team up with LeBron’s close friend Dwyane Wade’s son, Zaire, at Sierra Canyon. LeBron denied the rumors and said that Bronny is focused on his own career.
“He hasn’t even talked about that, LeBron said. “He’s just worried about Sierra Canyon right now and winning a state championship. That’s all he’s worried about.”
It’s refreshing to see LeBron taking this approach with his son. Bronny is a talented player with a bright future, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing college basketball. Duke is certainly one of the frontrunners, but it’s ultimately Bronny’s decision to make. LeBron will be there to support him no matter what.
